Občina Šempeter - Vrtojba je ena od občin v Republiki Sloveniji z okoli 6400 prebivalci in središčem v Šempetru pri Gorici, ima pa le dve naselji, poleg omenjenega še Vrtojbo. Po površini je med manjšimi slovenskimi občinami, saj ima le 15 km2. Nastala je z izločitvijo iz Mestne občine Nova Gorica.
